My current job is guaranteed through the end of May, so I have some time, thankfully. Might apply for a federal or state job, or even sign a one-year contract to teach English in the Orient. Nice to have those options.

Thanks for the compliment about the interviews :D I put a lot of effort into those, which is why I usually don't even try to interview during the school year.

And speaking of Valente, the second volume arrived today. Shall read it after the new Umberto Eco book, On Ugliness, perhaps starting it tonight or tomorrow :DLarry Nolenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16001420558511460998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8068873.post-63016355234169127092007-10-31T10:52:00.000-05:002007-10-31T10:52:00.000-05:00Well hopefully you get everything situated. You're interviews are definitely some of the best that I've read :)Roberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15006565422867420980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8068873.post-28997431518541987372007-10-28T17:28:00.000-05:002007-10-28T17:28:00.000-05:00I've considered approaching her for one (and I hav...I've considered approaching her for one (and I have others to whom I need to get back in touch with, since I've been avoiding my emails for the past month), but I want to wait just a little bit, due to professional/personal issues I have to handle first. But I most certainly do want to interview her in the near future if possible.Larry Nolenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16001420558511460998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8068873.post-33411479509885764772007-10-28T16:16:00.000-05:002007-10-28T16:16:00.000-05:00I was curious to see what you thought about this o...I was curious to see what you thought about this one. I haven't read any of the other finalists, but I definitely felt "In the Night Garden" was 'award-worthy'...

Personally, having just finished the second part of the duology, I really think the story is even more impressive when you look at it as a whole. Definitely one of the better experiences that I've had so far this year :)

I really think you should interview Ms. Valente. I just completed one with her which I'm posting Friday, and I thought it turned out great! Very intellectual :) It would be really interesting to see what kind of questions you could come up with for her. I think it would rival your Sarah Monette interview :DRoberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15006565422867420980noreply@blogger.com
