Really looking forward to reading this one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8068873.post-67164406808631611642014-01-11T02:44:56.013-06:002014-01-11T02:44:56.013-06:00What Steve said. Actually, what I expect some to point out is how much it does resemble certain New Wave SF narratives and how in some ways there might not be anything "new" about the story. It would be a valid point, but at the same time, I think the story is interesting enough that it will be of interest to many, even if the "convergent evolution" might be a bit much for some.Larry Nolenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16001420558511460998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8068873.post-84812365617100129822014-01-10T13:35:37.539-06:002014-01-10T13:35:37.539-06:00Bibliotropic: SF that concentrates on social inte...Bibliotropic: SF that concentrates on social interactions, culture, psychology and the soft-sciences started being called "New Wave" back in the 60s. Kind of reminds me in some ways of Svaha (Charles De Lint) wherein the author imagined a post apocalyptic N. American landscpae which has been taken over by the Chinese & Japanese factions with pockets of Native American tribes.

I'm going to try to get a copy of this one.

MihiThe Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01060590167867977158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8068873.post-58929480709040861502014-01-09T07:45:09.460-06:002014-01-09T07:45:09.460-06:00Sounds like this may be best called something that...Sounds like this may be best called something that I've started to hear about more and more: social sci-fi. Which seems to be sci-fi or speculative fiction with a greater emphasis on sociology, psychology, or anthropology than on science and technology. Which, personally, suits me just fine, since that's what I like best about speculative fiction and I love coming across sci-fi with that focus!Bibliotropichttp://www.bibliotropic.netnoreply@blogger.com
