Not that I'm all that surprised by this, but here are the stats for 7 out of the past 8 blog posts (not counting this one or the one I made almost 24 hours ago), according to Google. The top-listed post is an almost desultory commentary on four other people's posts on epic fantasy, the other six being reviews that might actually be of some use to some people. Let's see the numbers (should note that I linked to all of these on Twitter and that I did nothing further for any nor anything less for any as well), shall we?

It's a good thing that I'm not all that interested these days in hit counts (although to be honest, those review view numbers are not reflective of the hundreds of daily views of the home page, which would probably mean that 2-3 times those amounts at least are the likely read numbers), although it is amusing to see that posts that require less thought and effort get more views.
Tempted to post a picture of a fennec and/or squirrel to see if the hit count would be even greater....
Ah, what the hell:

Way to play to my love of adorable fennec foxes in order to get more comments!
It is interesting, though, that your thoughts on the thoughts of others has garnered more attention than the reviews. Guess it just plays to what's on people's minds, perhaps.
Few people know this, but fennecs are actually another of this blog's animal totems. They and squirrels shall rule the world if we are so lucky.
It's a bit of narcissism, I suppose, people wanting to read mostly what pertains to themselves. Natural impulse, I suppose (I'm not being judgmental here). After all, I do use Addictomatic on occasion to see if my name has popped up somewhere. Half of the time, it's for country/western music :P
You still have 551 followers in Google Reader where I read your posts and click through almost only when I want to see if someone else has commented.
If it makes you feel any better, I thoroughly enjoy your blog but I'm just not a big poster. I'm sure there's many more like me who love reading it but aren't into posting.
Keep up the good work!
Also, remember that your posts can be read entirely on the first page, so there is no need to click the article in question to read it. So those numbers are probably not correct at all.
Even though I fail to post often, I am very happy you reviewed Haruki Murakami finally and hope you will review more of his books, especially Wind-up Bird Chronicle.
Keep up the good work!
Yeah, I know that there are probably 50-300 views that should be added to the estimates of each review (not to mention even Google likely doesn't capture all the page views/hits), but I do think it's likely true that non-review posts get more hits than others.
I'm just pleased, I suppose, to know that my reviews do get read and likely by more people than those who used to subscribe to mid-city-sized newspapers that used to have books columns in the Sunday editions 15-30 years ago (I'm old enough to remember reading those when I was growing up in the 1980s and 1990s).
