Interesting ranking of professions here. Authors come in at #93, teachers at #127 (a bit higher than I thought out of 200 total professions). For those of you reading this that work full-time, where does your profession rank compared to authors and/or teachers?
Sadly, crack whore assistant didn't make the list of worst jobs this year...

Nurse is 143. So it goes.
My dream job (librarian) is #43.
My actual job (estimator) is apparently so unsexy that not only is a stevedore and a roustabout are more preferable than what I do.

Biologist is 4. This is closest I think.
Or maybe Medical Laboratory Technician at 16.Because I'm the kind of biologist that do more lab work then gazing at plants and animals.
On the other hand there's no patients.
Anyway it seems it's good to be scientist.

I'm studying to become a historian, which is #7. Pretty good, I think!

but since I do lots of labouring I would come under this as well. #190. Construction Worker (Laborer)
Finally, someone replies who has a profession ranked lower than teacher! :P Worst job I've ever worked was either working as direct care staff (child care worker for teens) or working around welders one summer when I was 18-19. Those are perhaps one of the few jobs that make teaching feel relaxing by comparison.
I don't don't know, it is all a matter of perspectives isn't it? I mean, someone can tell me my job is one of the worst according to some set of parameters, but I don't envy the work of teachers and elderly care workers, for instance. It definitely wouldn't be something I could be comfortable doing.

True, a lot of it is a matter of perspective. Some days I love my job, others I plot how to leave it as quickly as possible. But there's something that always draws me back in, sometimes kicking and screaming...
