Just returned from the doctor's office after wondering about this odd rash. The diagnosis isn't unexpected, but I just thought I'd see what people reading this think it is based on the picture alone.
Any guesses?

I'm no doctor, but I'd guess chiggers, because the bumps are sparser, more distinct/raised, and more localized than I'd expect for heat rash or an allergic reaction.
Yes, that's what I have. I knew I'd been feeling more drained than usual this week and I guess this explains why I felt what I thought last weekend was a horrible pain in my outer groin/thigh area. This outbreak is along the sciatic nerve branch. I couldn't post the other pictures unless someone wanted blogger porn of a different sort than posting pictures of lovely books!
Might have to take some time off. Will decide this weekend if I'm going to miss any work next week while the infectious stage becomes greatest.
Thanks, as I'll certainly need it, as I feel yucky this morning. Hopefully, the nerve damage won't be too severe, considering it's along the inside of my right thigh/leg.

I wish it were chiggers, but no, despite the humid subtropical climate of my hometown, chiggers don't come out and play until late May around here.
It's something much worse, but very treatable.
For something that makes you wish for chiggers.. I'm going to have to guess scabies.
obviously cancer !
Ha! Not scabies and certainly not (and thankfully so) cancer!
It's related to something I had as a child.
The shingles. My sympathies. I hope you feel better soon.

Larry,
I had shingles ages ago and it was no fun. Good luck with your treatment.
(I still get twinges in the affected area nearly four decades later...)
