Each of the 14 French books cost only 15¢ each. Not too shabby for paperback editions of classics, n'est ce pas? |
Brecht, Mann, and Musset. These alone could occupy my attention for weeks. |
Bought these 2012 releases new. Especially curious to see how Hand handles crime (pun!). |
Finally decided to try Nashville resident (and acclaimed author) Ann Patchett's work. Also, here is a Monica Ali book that I have yet to read. |
Despite the occasional pop psych irritations, I have enjoyed Pelevin's other works, so for $2, this wasn't a risk. Taking a $1 flyer on this book by Nawal El Saadawi, as the premise is intriguing. |

I just read "Woman at Point Zero" a couple months ago. The author is an interesting woman.
Curious what you think of The Helmet of Horror. It's in rotation for me but haven't gone back to it for some time..

David,
This might move the book up into a read tomorrow then, after I finish Available Dark, which is proving to be a worthy sequel to Generation Loss.
Saajan,
I have high hopes for it, as it's a retelling of the Minotaur myth. Maybe I'll have it read by the weekend?
I recently ordered that Elizabeth Hand book, myself, along with Generation Loss, after Nick Mamatas recommended them to me. Exciting!
I'm excited for Hand's book as well.
