Editor John Klima, who edits Electric Velocipede (which has been nominated before for the Hugo, if memory serves), is trying to secure one of 10 Pepsi $25K grants in order to create a quarterly magazine that would focus on making "underrepresented cultures" (i.e. stories from authors who often aren't available in English translation) more visible in the Anglo-American markets.
In order to get this grant, Pepsi has set up a voting page for applicants in the $25K category. All one has to do is either vote via Facebook (like I did) or sign up using an email account. No other obligations are involved.
Currently, this project stands at #234 and voting ends March 31. If you think you might be interested in reading stories by SF authors around the globe, vote (or if you really couldn't care much either way, but think others might enjoy it, maybe do the same?). Thanks in advance for any who read and considered voting!
