Here are the rest of the books that I've received this week that weren't included in the April Fool's Day post. Out of these five, four are review copies sent to me of books coming out in the next month, while one is a purchase I made after seeing a book appear in my Amazon Recommendations list.
Left: Nina Kiriki Hoffman,
Fall of Light (second in a series, but it might not be very dependent on the first. If that's the case, I'm willing to give this one a shot, as the blurb comparing her to Bradbury intrigues me); Antony Johnston and Wilson Tortosa,
Wolverine: Prodigal Son (first in a series of mangas being released by Del Rey that aim to retell the backstory of the X-Man Wolverine. Don't think it's tied in closely with the movie coming out. Story was fairly well-drawn and it made for an enjoyable, quick read).
Left: Dinaw Mengestu,
The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears (excellent 2007 debut novel about an Ethiopian immigrant's experiences in Washington, D.C. and his relationship with an upper-middle class white woman and her biracial daughter. Might review this later, after a re-read); Jack Campbell,
The Lost Fleet: Relentless (fifth in a series of military SF stories. Not my cup of tea).
Left: Robert V.S. Redick,
The Red Wolf Conspiracy (debut epic fantasy novel coming out a year after its UK release. Apparently much of the action takes place at sea. Will read sometime in the next couple of months).
