Ha! :P The day that the neo-cons get to me is the day that I'm a gonner! Needless to say, I won't be receiving any holiday cards from them anytime soon!
Don't feel bad if things go poorly against Alabama. They are gonna beat the snot out of everyone. I'm just glad the Dawgs don't have to play them this year.
The idea of class in a multi billion dollar enterprise as college football is hilarious in so many ways...
I won't feel bad at all, just as long as my beloved Vols don't ever give up. As for "class" and all that, I still think the late, great Lewis Grizzard had some of the best material on SEC rivalries :D
Don't you dare say a word about the helmet coming off early! After all the bad calls the SEC has seen this year, let the kids ( even if MT. Cody weighs 345 something pounds; they are kids...) celebrate. It was a fun game to watch.
Grizzard was beyond classy, a league of his own. He had a great head line in the paper one year about the Georgia Dawgs playing the South Carolina Gamecocks that I can't recall right now--must be the rum...--my dad thought the world of Grizzard and my Dad was from Chicago (Grizzad had NOTHING positive to say about the Tribune aka: the best newspaper ever) all I've read about him says he was a great guy, journalism is one thing but sportsmanship or 'class' is another.
That helmet issue was a great no call.
Go Dawgs! (...Or Roll Tide! or something like that...)
I'm a coach's son, so while I might have wished the flag had been thrown, I'd rather that the kicker and the O-line had done their jobs better there.
As for the Grizzard line, it was back in the 1960s when UGA was playing South Carolina and LB Happy Dicks was not going to play. Grizzard got the student editor drunk, so the headline for the game was this:
I usually cheer for UGA when they don't play UT, in part because my godfather is from Augusta and he gave me some UGA gear for Christmas around the time that Hershel was tearin' it up between the hedges.
As much as I do think you are a bit to communist at times Larry I to was worried it was a political thing...obamas foregin policy is sooo much more appropriate than Bushes but please health care isn't a right (sigh). I mean you teach to do the students who never work and never will really deserve us to do anything for them?

Took me a second to realize this was a football thing. Initial thought: The Republicans got to you!

Heh, the neo-cons v. the neo-comms. Should make it a steel death cage match. ;-p
I used to see "Muck Fizzou" shirts all the time when I was at KU. I guess subtlety isn't a strong point :P

Nor is class, evidently.

Chad,

And after those two blocked FGs...
I direct your attention to the image above...
LMAO!

Next year the sun will shine on the Vols/Dawgs.

I miss his columns :(
I'm an idiot! How could I possibly forget a line as memorable as that?!?!?!?!?
Greatest headline in a newspaper ever!
Next year, Go VOLS, GO GAWGS!
Indeed, and of course, Go Dawgs! next week :D

Anywho glad to see I was wrong
