Thirteen out of the seventeen books pictured here arrived today with the other four arriving on Saturday. As you can tell by this first pic, I had to order some used books in order to meet some future plans for reviewing the Gollancz SF Masterworks series (some here later this year or next, the rest on the SFF Masterworks blog). Plus I finally went ahead and ordered the revised edition of John Crowley's third Ægypt Cycle book, Dæmonomania, so there will be reviews of this series sometime later this year or early next.
Lots and lots of non-fiction Borges (and one collaborative effort with his second wife, María Kodama, near the end of his life). All these will be reviewed this month for Borges Month.
These are all review copies that I've received. Two graphic novels, one being a collection of a famous webcomic, along with a best of Charles de Lint, a new collection by Brendan Connell, Metrophilias, a translation of a Japanese graphic novel, and an upcoming book to be released in October. A wide variety of materials, most of which will be read in the next few weeks to two months.
There will be more in the coming days, likely some around Saturday or so, depending if I decide to do a little shopping that day or not.

I see that your Stand on Zanzibar is untouched. Shame on you! This is possibly among the five best novels in the whole SFM series.

Shame? That's one I bought new; the others were bought used. But I usually take better care of my books than the previous owner(s) did for the others. I know how to read a book without creasing the spine, at least most of the time.
Ah, I didn't read carefully. I thought you'd read those. Oh well, good thing too, as those looked really badly used.
But anyway, this book is a monstrous MUST.

Love that Drowned World. Was less convinced by the Crystal World, outside two or three astonishing scenes. Have The Drought on the bookshelf; we'll see. (Don't think I'll ever find the fourth one.)
I think the Drowned World might be the best SF Masterwork. Ballard was just on a whole 'nother level.
I didn't appreciate it so much for some reason. It was mostly atmosphere-driven, and didn't quite work for me.
