Hrmmm... should I read this now or wait until I have read and reviewed a few Robert Stanek novels first? Feel free to weigh in as often and as anonymously as you would like (or just create a few sock puppets in Stanek's case, I suppose)!

I received a copy yesterday, too. Now I know what I'll use to start the first fire in my fireplace this fall.
Alas, no fireplace here. I think I'll send it as a "love" gift to a girl I know ;)
I guess the publishers are desperate to recover the rumored big losses on the hardcover so they splurge on arcs...
I may have received a copy of the hc at the time, though I cannot remember for sure since it would have joined the paper recyclables on sight - which any other copy will follow if it comes

I'm actually reading this for a later review. Read the first 70 pages or so before stopping now to cook a late lunch/early dinner. It's...something else, but not the worst thing I've ever read. Might be motivated enough to finish reading it tonight and review it tomorrow, even.
Now I'm a little nervous. What happens if Larry has a "nice" review about Law of Nines? What happens to the universe if Goodkind wrote a good book, and it didn't sell? I'm going to go call my mom.
Stanek is a brilliant, talented author and you should read his brilliant, talented books that are like Tolkien, but butter.
And if you don't you're racist. And probably literally Hitler. But don't let that stop you from not reading those brilliant, talented books.

Wow...do they not read your reviews of his other stuff before they decide to send it to you...I mean I respect you enough to think you will try to be unbiased when reviewing it but I mean its not like any of his other stuff you have reviewed well...(of course you shouldn't have I'm still amazed you even continued to read his stuff..I stopped after book 2 and before I found any of the online hate)
I've never reviewed Goodkind on this blog and I rarely mention him (at least in comparison to others - I think maybe a half-dozen posts or so out of a 1000 in 3.5 years?), so there is that. But the most probable reason is that I'm on the publisher's mailing list and I receive unsolicited copies of their MMPBs and tradebacks every month. This just happens to be a high-profile release.
As for the review, I'll be honest, but it might read closer to how Adam Roberts reviewed WoT - I will be quoting liberally, I believe.
As for the Hitler bit in the Anon response...how did you guess what my thesis was on? :P
